Dr. Ashley E. Poklar is a licensed psychologist, has previously worked as a special education teacher, and also has a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Much of the work Dr. Poklar does in the psychology field falls within the child/adolescent space; particularly through the lens of trauma. This has included working with youth, and later school administration, following school shootings or multiple peer suicides. Her work in the nonprofit sector has also led to supporting first responders plan for, and manage, their emotional reactivity in crisis situations.

Dr. Poklar also teaches for Yorkville and Capella universities at the Masters and Doctoral levels with students who often state an interest in disaster response.
